Musharraf to contest next elections in Pakistan

      Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has confirmed that he would contest the next general elections, as he has decided to join politics on public demand. Addressing the first ever meeting of his newly formed political party, the All Pakistan Muslim League in London, Musharraf said the country is faced with multiple challenges, as both the PPP and the PML-N have failed to govern. He said politics should be above personal interests and added that he would return to the country and face the circumstances bravely, The Nation reports. Over 50 people, including Barrister Saif and Rashid Qureshi attended the meeting, which was held at Musharraf's London residence. Sources in the Union Home Ministry on Monday feared that the casualties of the IED blast in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada is likely to go high as the rescue and relief operations have been hampered due to bad light. The bus was on its way from Dantewada to Sukma when the incident took place near Chingawaram, over nine kilometers from Sukma. The sources said the attack might have been a pre -planned one. Reportedly, the Maoists also fired on the bus after the blast to ensure that nobody stays alive.
