Manmohan Singh would visit Pak soon: Gilani | Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that his Indian counterpart Dr. Manmohan Singh has accepted his offer to visit Islamabad. Speaking during a short media
briefing after the conclusion of the two-day nuclear security summit here, Gilani
said Dr. Singh would be visiting Pakistan soon. "Indian Premier Manmohan Singh
has accepted my invitation to visit Pakistan soon," Gilani said, adding, "The
announcement regarding his visit will be made after consultations between two
sides." Dr. Singh and Gilani had two informal chats on the sidelines of the nuclear
summit, which was attended by heads of 47 countries. The less than a minute handshake
between both leaders on Monday had grabbed attention of the Indian and Pakistani
media delegations. Gilani told media persons that he had detailed and satisfactory
meetings with US President Barack Obama and Chinese President Hu Jintao. "I had
important meetings with Chinese president," The News quoted Gilani, as saying.
Gilani also claimed that Obama expressed satisfaction over Pakistan 's preparedness
to handle any security threat surrounding its nuclear arsenals. |
