Centre announces Rs 15 lakh ex gratia to kin of slain CRPF personnel | The Central Government on Wednesday announced an ex gratia
compensation of Rs 15 lakh each to the next of kin of 75 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, killed in an ambush in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada District on Tuesday. According to Union Home Ministry, the Centre has also announced pensionary
benefits to the families of deceased CRPF personnel. "Apart from ex-gratia amount,
each family would be given Rs 10 lakhs by the CRPF from Risk Fund, the respective
state governments will give Rs three lakhs, the state government would pay Rs
10 lakhs from the Group Personal Accident Insurance Scheme (GPAIS) and Rs 60,000
will be given from the CRPF Central Welfare fund," a government release said.
The families will also be provided the last salary drawn by the slain Jawan as
pension under Liberalized Pensionary Award (LPA). In addition to the above, the
Ministry has also announced that one eligible family member would be given employment
in CRPF on compassionate grounds as per rules. |
