Bhattacharya slams Chidambaram for intemperate language

West Bengal Chief Minister has said the intemperate language used by the Home Minister P Chidambaram during his visit to the Maoist-infested areas in the state, was 'not good'. Chidambaram had said the buck stops at the CM's table. "If it goes beyond that, it's the failure of the administration." Bhattacharjee retorted, "Some people love to play with words. He should do his own duty. I am doing mine. Everybody knows what the situation is in our country." Bhattacharjee labelled Chidambaram's choice of words as "slang". "I have never found such words in the speeches of politicians. Talking about his meeting with Chidambaram on Saturday, Bhattacharya said the Central Government should ask the Trinamool Congress (TMC) to cooperate with the state government. "I am trying my best to maintain the law and order but I told the minister that you should tell the opposition that they should also cooperate with the government. If they say no, we will not attend any party meeting called by administration at the state level or district level whatsoever, they will not participate in the meeting, then it is very difficult to solve the problem, the only point I told him," Bhattacharya added. Bhattacharjee also denied Chidambaram's claim that the chief minister had named half a dozen police stations in the state where "law and order machinery was not effective".
