There is no obstacle to Shoaib-Sania marriage: Farooq Abdullah | Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah on Monday said that he did not think there was any barrier to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik's impending nuptials with Indian tennis star Sania Mirza. "Sania likes him and he likes her. Then, in this case, what can a
Qazi (Muslim cleric) do? When husband-wife are ready then what can a Qazi do?"
said Abdullah. "The two like each other and I hope they are happy and my blessings
are with them," he added. Hyderabad girl Ayesha Siddiqui claims to be Malik's
first wife and her family has charged Malik with harassing her, cheating to marry
another girl, and accused him of criminal intimidation. She has also filed a case
in this regard. Ayesha has alleged that she and Malik are already married and
he is marrying Sania Mirza without her consent. Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Police
on Monday questioned Malik for over two hours at Sania's house. Malik reportedly
claimed his signature on the nikhanama was forged. Earlier, acting on Mohammed
Siddiqui's complaint, police asked Malik not to leave the city without their permission
and also alerted immigration officials. A police team has also questioned Ayesha
Siddiqui's family at their residence, following an allegation of forgery levelled
by Malik. |
