Buddhadeb expresses satisfaction over Gorkha talks | West Bengal Chief Minister Bhuddhadeb Bhattacharjee on Sunday expressed satisfaction over the progress of talks over the issue of the demand to create a separate Gorkhaland state. A tripartite talks including Union Government, West Bengal Government and
Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) are underway to solve the long pending

row. Addressing a press conference here, Bhattacharjee said the row would be
solved
during the next rounds of talks. "A discussion on the report of the Darjeeling
crisis (Gorkhaland) has been made and hopefully the crisis will be solved in the
next tripartite talks. An array of words has been exchanged between the concerned
parties but nobody has spoken the last word,” Bhattacharjee said. He added that
the recently concluded fifth round of talks were quite satisfactory. “The fifth
round of tripartite talks with the centre in New Delhi was quite satisfactory,"
Bhattacharjee added. The GJM is spearheading an agitation to create a separate
state had agreed to an interim council, the Gorkha Regional Authority, till December
31, 2011 prior to the creation of a separate state, during fifth round of tripartite
talks held in New Delhi recently. |
