CPM accuses Trinamool of joining hands with Maoists |
The ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist) accused the Trinamool Congress of joining
hands with the banned Maoist ultras and the killings their cadres and supporters.
Over 300 cadres and supporters of the CPM have been murdered in the political
violence in the state ever since the seventh Left Front Government took charge
under Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee Between March and June the Maoists
have killed over 40 Left front supporters. According the CPM state committee member
Rabin Dey the spate of violence is because of the main opposition parties in the
state joining hands with the banned Maoists. "These type of brutal killings are
going on as CPM is fighting for the anti-imperialist, anti-monopolist, anti-fundamentalist
policies and that is why all the forces are united to physically annihilate the
supporters of the party," Dey said. He added that:"Immediately after the Lok Sabha
elections, the newly elected Trinamool Congress MP Subhendu Adhikari threatened
the CPM workers in a public meeting to leave the party and join Trinamool. Dey
expressed concern over the continuing Maoist menace even after the deployment
of central police forces. |
