No scheduled joint press conference after Feb 25 Indo-Pak talks | India and Pakistan are unlikely to host any joint press conference following the February 25 foreign secretary-level talks here. According to sources, the itinerary of the talks does not mention
any joint press conference involving both sides following the forenoon talks,
which are scheduled to be held at the Hyderabad House here. The six member Pakistani
delegation headed by Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir, which would arrive here
on Wednesday (February 25), is expected to hold meetings with several important
persons, including Hurryiat Chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq. Bashir is likely to
participate in a separate interaction session with the media at the Pakistan High
Commission. The Pakistani delegation's schedule also includes a lunch hosted by
Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao following the meeting and a courtesy call on External
Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna. However, the timing of Krishna's call is yet to
be decided. |
