No talks without action against 26/11 perpetrators: India | The Indian Government has reportedly said that unless Pakistan takes some sort of action against the 26/11 accused the possibility of resumption of dialogue is remote. According to sources, India has provided enough evidence
to Pakistan regarding the perpetrators of 26/11 attacks and the need is for Pakistan
to act, and then only the dialogue between both the countries can be held. Pakistan
has said that it needs more time to verify the information provided by India.
New Delhi's statement has particularly hardened after Pakistan President Asif
Ali Zardari said Saeed was not a major factor for resumption of formal talks between
the two countries. Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Quresdhi has also said
that he is not expecting any major breakthrough in his upcoming meeting with his
Indian counterpart S M Krishna in New York on the sidelines of the 64th session
of the UN General Assembly. India's mindset is evident. I am not too optimistic
and I do not think any major breakthrough is possible, Qureshi said. Speaking
to reporters in Multan in Pakistan Qureshi said : "I have already said that we
want the situation to take a turn for the better. But we should not be too optimistic
as there are lots of challenges."
