Security arrangements tightened for India-South Africa Test in Kolkata

Security arrangements have been tightened for Team India and the South African team for the second test being played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata after a terror strike in Pune, in which nine persons were killed and over 50 injured on Saturday. People praised the West Bengal administration for their efficiency and promptness in ensuring an enhanced security cover. "Security is very tight here. I am really happy to see the amount of alertness and attention of the police. Today, we are seeing more of policemen roaming around on the streets than the general public. Hats off to the West Bengal administration for doing a nice job," said Biswajit Jha, a fan at the stadium. "I am really happy and would wish for such security all around the nation at every stadium, to every player and general public, of course," he added. Security agencies are on high alert across India after the terror strike at a German Bakery in Pune. The improvised explosive device (IED), kept in a packet outside the kitchen of the German bakery, exploded at around 7.30 in evening on Saturday when a waiter attempted to open it. The German Bakery is a favourite food joint for foreigners, located close to the Osho Ashram, which is said to have been inspected by Pakistani American terror suspect David Coleman Headley more than two years ago.
