Zardari may sack PCB chief Butt soon | Pressure is mounting on the Pakistan Cricket Board
(PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt to step down in the wake of national team's horrendous performance during Australia tour, as now members of the Upper House of Parliament
have formed a committee to look into the reasons behind the debacle. The committee had called a meeting to discuss issues concerning the national cricket team, however,
Butt didn't turn up. National Assembly Standing Committee on Sports chairman
Jamshed
Dasti has been vociferously demanding Butt's resignation. Dasti said President
Asif Ali Zardari, who is also PCB's patron, would be soon informed about the
prevailing
mismanagement in the board. "We want to brief the President regarding all prevailing
ills in the PCB. We have already forwarded recommendations to the President,"
The Daily Times quoted Dasti, as saying. Meanwhile, Sports Minister Aijaz Jakhrani
has said that he has discussed all the issues with the President, and a final
decision will be taken by him in this regard soon. "I have already taken up the
matter with the President during my meeting and hopefully something positive would
come up in a few days times. It is entirely up to the President to decide on the
issue and I cannot give any deadline for changes," Jakhrani said. |
