JuD chief Saeed asks Chidambaram to meet him first | Banned Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, whom New Delhi considers as the chief conspirator
of the November 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, has attacked India calling it a consistent betrayer, and asked Home Minister P Chidambaram to meet him first when he visits
Pakistan. "India has always betrayed Pakistan in the name of talks," Saeed said
while addressing a huge gathering here. Addressing the 'Kashmir Solidarity Rally',
he asked Chidambaram to meet him first in Lahore before going to Islamabad to
take in the SAARC summit. "While the United States failed to stay in Afghanistan
then how could India remain in Kashmir ," The News quoted Saeed, as saying.
Meanwhile,
the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Interior Home
Ministers
conference, which was scheduled to be held in Islamabad from February 26 to 28
has been postponed. The decision was taken as the Nepalese Home Minister Bhim
Rawal expressed his unavailability for the summit. Chidambaram was scheduled to
hold bilateral discussions with his Pakistani counterparts on the sidelines of
the summit. Now, it is unlikely that Chidambaram would be going to Pakistan, as
sources believed that the Home Minister could give the conference a skip when
the new dates are announced, citing his tight schedule. |
