Rahul Gandhi visit: Mumbai Police arrest over 40 Shiv Sainiks | Over 40 Shiv Sena activists were detained in different parts of Mumbai for protesting against the visit of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi. The
Maharashtra Government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure security for Rahul
Gandhi, who has proceeded to address a youth congress function at Ghatkopar after
attending another meeting in the Ville Parle area in the city. The Mumbai Police
had earlier sent notices to Shiv Sena leaders across Mumbai not to indulge in
any illegal activity on Friday. Gandhi, who arrived at Mumbai airport this morning,
was received by State Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and other party bigwigs.

said a chopper took him to the Pawan Hans Veledrone in Ville Parle area where

said all precautions were taken to ensure that Rahul Gandhi's programmes passed
off peacefully. Shiv Sena activists greeted Gandhi's arrival in city with black
flags in protest against his "Mumbai for all Indians" remark. This morning Gandhi
addressed college students at Bhaidas Hall. The organizers and police officials
have adopted various measures to ensure the programme passes off peacefully. |
