BJP to go back to basics following RSS complaints | After the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) complained that a five-star culture is hurting the Bharatiya Janata
Party (BJP)'s image, an attempt is being made to go back to the basics by around 5000 BJP members. They will stay in tents on the Agra-Mumbai Highway in Indore
during their three-day National Executive beginning from February 17. BJP President
Nitin Gadkari's tent will have a private dining room, a plasma TV, wi-fi, an office
for secretarial staff and a bathroom that would be plush by camping standards.
Similar arrangements have been made for senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani.
There are reports that Advani will be driven around the camp in a golf-cart, while
the other BJP members will cycle around the 90-acre campus. 1600 CCTV cameras
will be installed to keep a vigil and the food will be provided by a 24*7 café.
There are reports that many party members will be packing mosquito repellents,
packaged snacks and torches to avoid any untoward
incident. |
