Mulayam no more soft for Amar Singh, says 'I look forward, not at past' | Showing a firm stand on the issue of accepting senior party leader Amar Singh, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday said that he doesn't look at the past. With his comments, during a press conference here, Mulayam Singh Yadav indicated that he had intention of reconsidering acceptance of the resignation
by party's estranged General Secretary Amar Singh from all organizational posts.
"I look forward and not at the past. My eyes are on the protest that we are staging
tomorrow. Whatever happened in the past I don't want too look back upon that,"
said Yadav.Yadav said that his party would launch a massive protest against the
central government and Uttar Pradesh state government against price rice and corruption.
"To take out a protest is our democratic right. To raise voice against injustice,
corruption, atrocities, the government is looting the people. So we will protest
against this government," said Yadav. When asked whether Amar Singh would join
the protest, Yadav said that he has appealed to everyone, including leaders, workers
and even common public to join the protest. Amar Singh, considered the right hand
man of Yadav, had cited failing health behind quitting the post, party sources
had first confirmed on January 06, but analysts said there was rift between the
two leaders. Yadav had earlier refused to accept the resignation of the 53-year-old
Singh, hoping that the matter would be settled. But accepted Singh's resignation
on Sunday (Jan.17), reportedly following latter's comments in his personal blog
and stated to a newspaper. |
