I will contact true Samajwadis: Amar Singh | Former Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh on Monday criticised party president Mulayam Singh Yadav and said that he would use his exit to contact true Samajwadis
and fight on. "I am grateful to Mulayam Singh Yadav for setting me free. I did
not have the freedom to speak my mind. I am free from Mulayam's family's mismanagement.
I will try to become Samajwadi from Mulayamwadi," Singh said. He even backed Uttar
Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati's agenda
for the creation of smaller states, a move consistently opposed by Mulayam Singh
Yadav. Suggesting a political split in Uttar Pradesh, Singh said, "I asked for
Ghazipur and Balia tickets. The ticket was denied to me and the SP lost." Singh
also criticised Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lal Krishna Advani, Maharastra
Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Bal Thackeray and Kalyan Singh for practicing a brand
of politics that was self-serving. Earlier on Monday, Mulayam Singh Yadav ruled
out the possibility of Amar Singh's return. "I look at the future and not into
the past. I don't want to look into something which had already happened," Yadav
said. On Sunday, Yadav accepted Amar Singh's resignation from all party posts.
When asked whether he would accept Sanjay Dutt's resignation too, Yadav said,
the public would soon know his decision. |
