Sonia kickstarts Maharashtra poll campaign | Even as the Congress party and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) continue to engage in seat sharing talks, Congress President Sonia Gandhi kickstarted her party's campaign for the coming Maharashtra Assembly polls on Monday. Inaugurating the renovated Congress
Office in Mumbai, which has been named after Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia called on the
workers to reach out to the people with renewed vigour to ensure the party's return
to power in the state. Reaffirming the Congress's commitment and link common man
she said the policies and programmes of the party continue to be "aam aadmi" (common
man) centric. "Your enthusiasm and vigour gives me confidence that the Congress
will emerge victorious in the Maharashtra Assembly elections once again," Gandhi
said. She also congratulated party workers for their efforts in reaching the policies
of the party to the common man in the state. |
