Deve Gowda regrets using derogatory words against Yeddyurappa | Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda on Monday said he regretted for using derogatory and un-parliamentary words against Karnataka Chief inister BS Yeddyurappa. Interacting
with the media after the hearing of the Bangalore –Mysore Infrastructure corridor
project case in the Supreme Court, Gowda said: “They made several allegations
against me. I used that word, yes I used that word. That is Bl***y b****d, I said.
That’s why yesterday only I withdrew that word and expressed regret.” “I must
be very frank in my 53 years of public life, either inside Parliament or out side
Parliament or in the Assembly I have never used a single un-parliamentary word.
No speaker has expunged my words,” Gowda added He said the words came out as a
result of agony of farmers who are suffering by the destruction of their houses
and land acquisition by State Government to build modern townships and film city.
Reacting to the language used by Gowda against Yeddyurappa, BJP National Spokesperson
Prakash Jawadekar said: “This shows Deve Gowda's exasperation and desperation.
I can only send the message to him to get well soon." In Bangalore , The Bharatiya
Janata Party Karnataka Unit threatened to initiate a legal action against Gowda
for using un-parliamentary language against State Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa.
Karnataka Government’s special representative to Delhi, V Dhananjay Kumar said:
“We highly object this kind of conduct by Deve Gowda and demand that he should
immediately express unconditional apology to the people of the Karnataka or else
he will have to face legal action." The party also demanded an unconditional apology
from Gowda. On Sunday, interacting with the media in Bangalore , on the sidelines
of a farmer’s agitation against the controversial Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure
Project, Gowda used derogatory words in Kannada and English and Hindi languages
against Yeddyurappa. |
