Krishna reacts to Tharoor's comments on twitter | External Affairs Minister SM Krishna has responded strongly to the comments made by Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor on twitter, a social networking site with respect to India's new visa rules. SM Krishna on Monday said the government would act according to
the guidelines set by the Home Ministry for visa regulations. "Policy matters
should not be discussed in the public domain," he added. The home ministry introduced
new visa regulations on November 4, keeping in mind the disclosure about the abuse
of tourist visas by 26/11-terror suspect David Coleman Headley. In the website
twitter, Tharoor has pointed out if the new visa regulations would in fact build
up the security commenting that the 26/11 terrorists had no visas. Tharoor had
further tweeted that the concern was not security versus tourism. Through the
new visa rules, the government wants to avoid any future situation of a terrorist
staying in the country on a tourist visa. |
