Iran claims proof of Pak based terror group carrying out attacks against it | Iran has reiterated that it has evidence to prove that
the banned terror group Jundullah is using Pakistan's territory for carrying out its nefarious activities against Tehran. Talking to media persons during a press
conference at the Iranian Cultural Centre here, Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan,
Mashaallah Shakri said Jundullah is trying to spoil the relationship between Tehran
and Islamabad, and has apparently succeeded in its aims by carrying out a suicide
blast in the Iranian city of Pishin, in which over 40 people were killed. It may
be noted that Iran has time and again blamed Pakistan for the attack on the Islamic
Revolution Guards Corps (IRG), saying there is specific information that the perpetrators
were hiding inside Pakistan. Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki had said
that the Sunni rebel group, which carried out the deadly bombing, was based in
Pakistan. "This terrorist grouplet has links with intelligence services which
are based in the region, including in Pakistan and Afghanistan. We will cut off
the hands of those who support them (Jondollah) from our country," Mottaki had
said. Shakri also rejected reports about nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan
providing important nuke know-how to Tehran, The Nation reports. "Dr Qadeer Khan
never assisted Iran in development of its nuclear programme," he said terming
such allegations as 'baseless'. Commenting on the Afghan war, he stressed that
the presence of international forces in that country has deteriorated the situation
further. "Use of force can not normalise the situation in Afghanistan. Increase
in troops in Afghanistan would certainly affect the neighbouring countries," Shakiri
said while referring to the US plans to send 30,000 more troops to the war-ravaged
country. |
