England, the team they'll all fear in South Africa: Defoe | England striker Jermain Defoe reckons that most of the countries will fear his team during the 2010 football World Cup in South Africa. Confidence is also sky-high among the Three Lions players following their favourable group draw against USA, Algeria
and Slovenia. "To be honest, I think the other teams will be worried about us.
When you look at our set-up, with the manager, the squad, and players that can
make an impact, you have to fear England," The Mirror quoted Defoe, as saying.
"Obviously you don't want to be too confident, but we're going out there to win
it. Capello says we can beat anyone and the players believe that," he added. Defoe
further said that Spain will be among the favourites for the tournament. "Spain
are a great side, with top players queuing up to get a game - and they're the
European champions, so I guess they're the team to beat. Let's hope we meet them
in the Final," he said. England had lost to Spain 2-0 win last February, when
manager Fabio Capello was missing the service of Wayne Rooney, Frank Lampard and
Steven Gerrard. |
