Australia draw against West Indies in Adelaide Test

A match-saving sixth wicket partnership between Australian vice-captain Michael Clarke and wicketkeeper Brad Haddin ensured a draw for the home team in the second Test against the West Indies played at the Adelaide Oval. The Aussies set a target of 330 runs to win in 81 overs, were reduced to a precarious 139 for five wickets with another 25 overs to play in the final session before Clarke (61 not out) and Haddin (20 not out) dug their heels in to put on 72 runs, from 123 balls, and steer their side to safety. Clarke was particularly steady in occupying the crease for 141 minutes, while the usually aggressive Haddin showed off another side to his game by hanging around for 95 minutes to end the day on 212-5 for the sake of maintaining Australia's 1-0 lead in the three Test series, The Courier Mail reported. Earlier in the day, all rounder Dwayne Bravo, who finished with impressive figures of 3-37, snared the prize scalps of Mike Hussey (29) and Marcus North (2) in quick succession to give the West Indies a genuine sniff of victory. The third and final Test between both the sides will be played at the WACA from December 16.
