Tiger must own up on 'Oprah', says buddy | A golfer close to Tiger Woods, world No 3 Steve Stricker, has suggested he should purge himself on an Oprah Winfrey-style chat show and seek public redemption that way. "It's been hard just to see what's been going on with him the last few
days. I'm not going to kid you - it was a shock to see all that. His image is
going to take a little bit of a shot and I'd like to see him come on TV and just
pour it out a little bit and show what's happened," The Sun quoted Stricker, as
saying. "I don't know if that'll ever happen. If he just does the right things
from here on out, people will forgive him. But as far as bouncing back, we all
know what kind of person and player he is and how hard he works at things," he
added. "So I'm sure he will bounce back. I don't think there's any question about
that," he said. Double Open champion Padraig Harrington admitted Tiger's transgressions
were the talk of the locker room. One of his closest pals, Open champion Stewart
Cink, is convinced it will not interrupt his relentless pursuit of golfing immortality.
He revealed: "It's pretty legitimate for people to be discussing it. We're all
interested in a bit of gossip, it's part of human nature, I suppose." |
