Jharkhand women self-help groups display their products at IITF | Women self-help groups from remote areas of Jharkhand displayed products with traditional Kantha Art at the ongoing India International Trade Fair (IITF) here. They are
being trained with the help of JHARCRAFT; a Jharkhand Government undertaking.
It is an initiative of the Jharkhand Silk Textile and Handicraft Development Corporation
Ltd. Ashwini, regional manager, JHARCRAFT, said that 5000 women from various parts
of Jharkhand were being trained. "We have trained 5000 women from various parts
of Jharkhand in Kantha Art and Zardosi from N.I.F.T. Kolkata. With the help of
this they can earn their daily bread and butter and Improve our production too,"
said Ashwini. The visitors said the fair depicted unique and diverse cultures
of various regions at a single spacious venue. Noorjahan, a weaver, said she was
feeling good, as everyone visiting the Jharkhand pavilion was keen on learning
and picking up these products. The 29th edition of the IITF was opened for the
