Liberhan report will be tabled in this session of Parliament: Chidambaram

     Union Home Minister P.Chidambaram assured Parliament on Monday that the government would table the Justice Liberhan Commission report on Babri masjid Demolition in this session. Replying to a short discussion in the Lok Sabha on the leakage of the report in a section of the media, Chidambaram said : "There is only one copy of the report with the Home Ministry. And it is in safe custody." "I can assure you Madam (Speaker Meira Kumar) no one from the Home Ministry has spoken to any journalists about this report," he added. "I would also like to say that the report of the Justice Liberhan Commission along with the Action Taken Report will be tabled in the House in this session," he also said. Earlier both Houses of Parliament witnessed an uproar over the leakage of the Justce Liberhan Commission report in a section of the media. Addressing the house, Leader of Oppostion in the Lok Sabha L.K.Advani demanded the immediate tabling of the report and said he was shocked by its leakage. " I am really hurt in the way the newspaper report made comments about former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. That too at this stage of his life, I personally submitted before the commsion and I an satisfied," he said. " I am proud for my association with the Ramjanmabhoomi Movement, and equally, I am distressed over the demolition of the structure. But I feel according to the wishes of a large number of people, the Ram temple will be built in Ayodhya," Advani added. "I along with the RSS and VHP leaders tried to stop the mob from harming the structure, but we could not stop them," he said. In the Rajya Sabha, leader of the Opposition Arun Jaitely and senior BJP leader M.Venkaiah Naidu questioned the authenticity of the media report saying, "If no one from the Home Ministry leaked the report, then how it reached to the media?" "The leakage of the report has questioned the credibility of the house," they added. Naidu demanded the immediate tabling of the report in parliament. He also questioned the government's dilatory tactics.
