UN enquiry commission interrogates Musharraf in Benazir murder case | The UN commission probing the former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's assassination case has reportedly quizzed former President General Pervez
Musharraf. According to sources, the enquiry commission interrogated Musharraf
last Friday and asked about the security arrangements made for Bhutto after she
returned to the country in October 2007. Musharraf was also quizzed about the
series of events occurred after Bhutto's tragic death on December 27, 2007, The
News reports. Earlier, the commission had asked the Pakistan government to arrange
a meeting with Musharraf and several other top military officials. In a letter
to the government, chief of the enquiry commission, Heraldo Munoz sought access
to Musharraf, and top military and ISI officials for interrogation. It may be
noted that under the terms and conditions of the UN commission, Islamabad has
to provide access to any official or a particular individual, who the commission
considers could throw light on Bhutto's assassination. |
