Sri Lanka ready to face Indian challenge, says Sangakkara | Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara has said that previous
record doesn't matter and his team is ready to face the Indian challenge. Addressing reporters here on Saturday, Sangakkara said that previous record didn't matter
for his side. "What happened before really doesn't matter to us, it is a new test
match and new side so you will have to play well and be prepared yourself physically
and mentally for the challenge. If you can do all your preparations, execute the
game plan well then you probably get on the top," he added. "We don't care about
the past record. We have tried our best all the times but India was better than
us so they won it and won the series, so that is not going to put us down. We
will try because as a player and as a Cricketer you have to try and try...this
time we have a good side, good batting and bowling attack," said Muttiah Muralitharan,
flamboyant Sri Lankan off-break bowler. He also said that he would try to deliver
his best performance in the upcoming series, which would be, last oversees series.
"I am going to retire next year after West Indies tour to Sri Lanka . So this
is going to be last oversees test series, I will try my best and try to finish
it nicely," he added. The first Test match, beginning from November 16 will be
played in the city's Sardar Patel stadium. The other two Tests will be played
in Kanpur (November 24-28) and Mumbai (December 2-6). |
