Queen a big fan of The Kumars At No 42 | The Queen is apparently a big fan of the hit BBC comedy series The Kumars At No 42, which features a fictional British Indian family. According to one of
its stars, Sanjeev Bhaskar, when he and his co-star wife, Meera Syal, 48, met
the Queen at a Buckingham Palace reception they were pleasantly surprised to discover
that Her Majesty was particularly impressed with Meera's frighteningly convincing
portrayal of an elderly woman. "She said that her make-up for the role had been
remarkable and must have been terrible for her skin," the Daily Express quoted
Sanjeev as saying. "But Meera said it was like a face pack and once you peeled
off the Latex your skin felt fantastic. He added: "Then I said: 'Your Majesty,
can I let you in on a secret? She's wearing the make-up now and when you peel
it off there's a wizened old grandmother underneath!'" |
