US President Barack Obama has said both Pakistan and America were working together to achieve their objectives in the region and dispelled the notion that both nations were working at cross-purposes. During an interview with ABC News, Obama underlined that Washington has an effective partnership with Islamabad. "We have an effective partnership with Pakistan that is working to achieve our goals in the entire region and that we're not working at cross purposes, that issues of corruption are dealt with, that we are identifying not just a national government in Kabul, but provincial government actors that have legitimacy ... right now," Obama said. Replying to a question, Obama said Washington was not interested in staying in Afghanistan indefinitely. He said that it was time that Afghanistan should also start sharing the burden of the country's security along with the international forces.
