Chelsea boss Ancelotti promises to keep England players injury-free for World Cup | Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has promised fellow Italian and England coach Fabio Capello to keep John Terry and Frank Lampard fresh and injury-free for England's World Cup challenge. "If I have a chance to rest players - especially
those who play in their national teams - it's better for everyone," The Mirror
quoted Ancelotti, as saying. "At the end of May, John Terry and Lampard will be
in very good condition and will have a fantastic World Cup," he added. Although
the England duo doesn't want to miss a game but Ancelotti is resting both for
tonight's Carling Cup clash with Bolton. "They do want to play every game, even
this season. But, for them, it's better sometimes to rest," the Italian said.
Lampard takes a place on the bench, while Terry has the night off completely.
"It's very important to prevent injuries. When I played, it was work, work, work
every day. These days you work hard with intensity, but it's also important to
give the players rest to prevent injuries. This is our way," Ancelotti said. |
