Younus Khan has resigned as captain of the Pakistan cricket team after the chairman of a parliamentary committee on Sports levelled match-fixing allegations against him. "I could not stand criticism from all and sundry as it was affecting my performance that is why I resigned," The Dawn quoted Khan, as saying. During the hearing of the National Assembly standing committee on sports, Khan submitted his resignation to Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman, Ejaz Butt, who however returned the resignation to him. Earlier, the committee chairman Jamshed Dasti had claimed that he had evidence Pakistan deliberately under-performed against Australia and New Zealand in the tournament.
