MUMBAI: Veteran film producer Rajkumar Barjatya, father of Sooraj
Barjatya, passed away in Mumbai on Thursday morning. He is survived by filmmaker-
son Sooraj and wife Sudha.
"It is with profound grief that we mourn the loss of Raj Kumar Barjatya,
father of Sooraj Barjatya. May his soul Rest In Peace," his production house
Rajshri Films posted oin Instagram.
Rajkumar Barjatya took over Rajshri Films from his father Tarachand
Barjatya. He produced films like Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo (2015), Hum Saath Saath Hain
(1999), Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994) and Maine Pyar Kiya (1989).
Actor Anupam Kher wrote in a condolence tweet: "Deeply saddened to know
about the demise of Raj Kumar Barjatya ji. Had known him since my first film
Saaransh. Most humble and amazingly knowledgeable human being. Had a childlike
curiosity. I loved speaking to him for hours about goodness. He practiced it. Will
miss him. #OmShanti."

Babu as he was affectionately called - was an extremely soft-spoken
person... Heartfelt condolences to Sooraj, the Barjatya family and #Rajshri parivaar,” Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Raj Kumar Barjatya died of a heart attack at Sir HN Reliance Foundation
Hospital, tweeted trade analyst Komal Nahta.
His funeral is scheduled to take place in the evening at Worli
crematorium.
