Former National Security Advisor Mishra passes away

      Former National Security Advisor Brajesh Mishra passed away in New Delhi yesterday following a heart attack. He was 84. A career diplomat, Mishra was Principal Secretary to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee when he was appointed National Security Advisor. Brajesh Mishra was considered one of the most powerful people in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) during the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) regime and played a key role in foreign and strategic policy matters. He had earlier served as India 's Permanent representative to the United Nations (UN).
