Country needs leadership and vision: Gadkari

Terming the Congress-led UPA-II Government as the most corrupt in the history of independent India, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Gadkari on Thursday said the country needs leadership and vision. Addressing party workers at the national executive meet being held here, Gadkari said: "UPA Government has achieved new milestones in corruption and broken all records in the past 65 years. Whether in the skies, or on land or under it (2G, Commonwealth, Coal) they have a scam everywhere." "Now, the country needs leadership and vision. You can donate an eye but not vision. They are looting the country and we have become a rich nation with a poor population," he added. Taking a dig at the Prime Minister, Gadkari said, "Manmohan Singh is on silence mode...why has become Maunmohan?" He further said the biggest weapon of this government is the CBI, which is now the Congress Bureau of Investigation. "It would better if Congress gives two rooms in Congress HQ to CBI director," Gadkari added. Further describing the UPA as a sinking ship, Gadkari said: "Trinamool Congres's withdrawal proves that the BJP's experiment with a 23-party coalition under Atal Bihari Vajpayee was more successful. Manmohan Singh-led UPA Government is facing intense pressure from the opposition parties over the slew of reforms announced recently. UPA Government has also lost the support of the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC), which has withdrawn its support over the move to allow FDI in multi-brand retail, a cap on the number of LPG gas and diesel price hike.
