9th World Hindi Conference concludes in South Africa - India News and Travel Times Provides India-centric and other News and Features

The three-day-long 9th World Hindi Conference concluded here on Monday. India's Minister of State for External Affairs Preneet Kaur felicitated several Hindi scholars, writers and laureates, who had gathered from different parts of the world for their contribution towards the language. The conference was jointly inaugurated on Saturday (September 22) by Kaur and South Africa 's Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan. While addressing the conference, Kaur expressed gratitude for the huge success of the conference. “I am very glad to see that this conference was celebrated as a festival, which saw great participation from scholars, writers and people who have come here for the sake of their love and interest in Hindi language,” said Kaur. Kaur also highlighted on the need to promote Hindi across the globe. “I am confident that foreign scholars will work hard for promoting Hindi language across the world. I would like to thank all Hindi scholars and lovers from India , South Africa and from other part of the world for their participation,” said Kaur. With an estimated 200 million speakers worldwide, Hindi is among the most extensively spoken languages in the world.
