Monetary aid given to victims of militancy in Doda | The State Government of Jammu and Kashmir distributed aid worth 2.28 crore rupees
as relief among 60 militancy-hit families of Doda district. At a special event
organised here today, the state-level lawmaker, Wajeed Wani, distributed the gratis
amount to the victims. The money was distributed among the families as per the
state policy to assist the victims in rehabilitation and to ensure that their
livelihood and better education of children are not hampered. Talib Hussain, a
victim, who lost his father and brother in 2003, expressed his gratitude to the
government for extending the monetary aid to him and other victims. "The militants
killed my brother and my father in 2003. The Government has already given us one
lakh rupees. Now, Wajeed Wani gave four lakh rupees. It is a worthy job done by
the government which will help us to maintain our bereaved families," said Hussain,
a victim. Wani handed over the relief money in the form of fixed deposits to the
families. "Though money cannot fill the void of these victims and nobody can fill
in for the loss suffered by them. But this is an effort initiated by the government
to provide five lakh rupees so as to help the victims," said Wani. |
