US suspends military operations with Afghanistan after 'insider attacks' | | The US military has suspended joint operations with Afghan forces in the wake of Americans soldiers being killed by the men they are training. The order effectively suspends 'until further notice' most of the operations which U.S. and Afghan troops conduct side by side. At higher headquarters, however, Afghans and Americans will still work together, CBS News
reports. In the field, small unit operations putting Afghan soldiers alongside
Americans will be suspended, unless an exception is granted by a commanding general,
the report said. According to the report, the order was issued after four American
and two British troops were killed by so-called 'insider attacks'.
