Pak PM Ashraf''s wife tells women not to shy away from wearing hijab | Pak Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf's wife, Nusrat Pervez Ashraf, has urged Muslim women to wear the hijab. She said it does not prevent them from making progress. Nusrat, while
addressing the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Women and Family Commission's (WFC) hijab
conference, said Muslim women should not hesitate to wear a veil, as it does not
hamper their performance in daily routine, nor does it come in the way of their
progress. Nusrat said Islam ensures protection and respect for women, and that
women could show their abilities by keeping themselves within the limits of Islam.
During the conference, a declaration was read out in which developed countries
of the world were demanded that they must immediately initiate steps to withdraw
ban on wearing hijab. It also said that Muslim women must not be denied of their right of freedom.
