James Bond’s blue ‘Casino Royale’ briefs up for charity auction | James Bond actor Daniel Craig’s swimming trunks that he wore in the movie ‘Casino Royale’ are up for sale at a charity auction and are expected to sell for 3000-5000
pounds. Along with it other memorabilia from Bond’s films are also being put up for auction, mainly online, Stuff.co.nz reported. The grab bag of 50 lots also
includes a belt with a golden buckle, worn in ‘The Man with the Golden Gun,’ an underwater backpack from ‘The Spy Who Loved Me,’ cufflinks from ‘For Your Eyes
Only’ and an Aston Martin from ‘Quantum of Solace.’ The collectables - from each of Bond’s 22 films and the next instalment, ‘Skyfall’ - will be auctioned off
at Christie’s to mark the 50th anniversary of the spy franchise’s first movie, ‘Dr No,’ in 1962. Proceeds will be sent to a dozen charities including UNICEF.
Other items to be auctioned off range from outfits, jewellery and posters to curiosities
such as suction pads that Connery used to crawl up a volcano in ‘You Only Live
Twice,’ a sun-harnessing “Solex Agitator” from ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’ and
tarot cards from ‘Live and Let Die.’ The 2008 Aston Martin from the opening car
chase in ‘Quantum of Solace’ is expected go under the hammer for 100,000 pounds. |
