Sharif asks Hindus 'not to leave Pakistan' | Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has
urged the Hindus living in Pakistyan not to leave the country. He criticized the government
for ignoring the minorities in Sindh. Sharif said the country belongs to the minorities
as much as it belongs to the Muslims. According to the Express Tribune, extending
support to them, Sharif also said that Pakistan is incomplete without the people
belonging to other religions. Meanwhile, Sindh's Minister for Minorities, Dr.
Mohan Lal, recently rejected reports suggesting that Hindus from the province
were migrating to India because of the poor law and order situation in the province.
Lal said the reports were just a propaganda aimed at maligning the Pakistan Peoples
Party ( PPP) government. He said over 4 million Hindus were living in Sindh, who
consider Pakistan as their motherland. Lal said it was a routine matter of Hindus
visiting India for pilgrimage or to meet their relatives. The Hindus from Sindh,
especially Jacobabad, Kashmore , Shikarpur, Larkana and Sukkur visit India every year for pilgrimage, he added. |
