Obama orders protection to Americans across globe

US President Barack Obama has ordered his administration to take all necessary measures to protect Americans overseas. Obama also said he and his aides had been speaking with foreign governments to let them know they had a responsibility to protect US citizens abroad. "We're also in contact with other governments to underscore that they've got an obligation to cooperate with us, to protect our citizens. That's part of their job," the Telegraph quoted him, as saying. Obama's remarks came after the US Ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens and three other diplomats were killed in Benghazi on Tuesday night. "We are going to bring those who killed our fellow Americans to justice. I want people around the world to hear me, to all those who would do us harm: no act of terror will go unpunished," Obama added while speaking at a re-election campaign rally in Colorado. The diplomats were killed by attackers, who were part of a mob blaming America for an anti-Islam film, which they said insulted the Prophet Mohammad.
