Police releases videos showing Wisconsin Sikh gurdwara shooting

The police in Milwaukee have released videos showing the White supremacist gunman who killed six people at a Sikh gurdwara in Wisconsin last month. Oak Creek Police Chief John Edwards played two videos, one from Lt. Brian Murphy’s squad car and the other from officer Sam Lenda’s car.The video shows Michael Page, dressed in a white shirt and black pants, bursting out of the temple. According to CBS News, Murphy spots Wade Michael Page and raises his gun. Page then runs out of the frame and Murphy runs for cover behind a parked car, disappearing from the view. Page then runs back into the frame and walks quickly towards Murphy, shooting the back windshield of a nearby car before moving off-screen again. Murphy was later shot dead while tending to two victims, who were shot by Page in the August 5 rampage at the Sikh Temple in Wisconsin , the report said. Showing the one-minute video from Murphy’s squad car, Edwards said that Murphy, the officer who was shot dead by the gunman, was shot 15 times and not nine as authorities have previously said. According to the report, the video from Lenda’s squad car showed him arriving about 10 seconds after Page shot down Murphy. The video shows Lenda bouncing over a median and into the temple’s driveway. Page sees Lenda’s vehicle and starts walking towards him. In the video, Lenda can be heard yelling several times at Page to drop his gun. The video showed Lenda and Michael Page exchange fire, and then the gunman, barely visible in the distance, shoots himself in the stomach and falls. "Our police officers handled themselves in a professional and heroic manner," Oak Creek Mayor Steve Scaffidi said at the news conference where the footage was released, adding: "Their actions probably saved lives." Page, a 40-year-old Army veteran, opened fire with a 9 mm pistol shortly before Sunday services were to begin and killed six worshippers and wounded four others.
