Protests in Patna against NRHM uterus removal scandal | | The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) protested here on Monday against the health scam regarding the removal of uterus of several women in the past seven years under the National Rural Health Mission. According to media reports, as many as 5,00,000 women were trapped into this and had their uterus removed by doctors, who pocketed insurance amount from the patients. The LJP leaders protested outside Bihar Governor Debananda Konwar’s residence and criticised the state government for their inefficiency. The protesters accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for not ordering a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the matter. |
