Mumbai attacks very much on table, says Krishna | Unrelenting on the issue of bringing the perpetrators of 26/11 carnage in Mumbai to justice, External Affairs Minister SM Krishna on Saturday said that there is “no question” of ignoring the ghastly terror attacks.
Addressing a press conference here, Krishna said, “There is no question of bypassing 26/11. When we said history, we mean the wars that were fought and other developments. But what happened in last three years, we cannot forget it. Its very much on the table.”
“Mumbai is very much on the table and they (Pakistan) will have to take the follow up action on bringing to justice the perpetrators of the heinous crime on Mumbai and on India, and India is not going back on that. We are insisting on that at every conceivable occasion, and we will continue to do that,” he said.
On the issue of Kashmir, Krishna said, “We are not afraid of the word Kashmir. We are willing to talk Kashmir also, but for that you need the right atmosphere.”
The issue of the release of Sarabjit Singh did come up during his dialogue with the Pakistani president, Krishna said, and revealed that “the (Pakistani) president has taken it (the issue) seriously and he instructed his office to look into it. Our approach is on humanitarian basis, considering the fact that he has spent almost 20 years in Pakistani jail.” |
