'Time for Pak to act on evidence given by India on 26/11 masterminds' | India has provided enough evidence against the terrorists involved in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and it is now for Pakistan to take action and improve ties with its neighbour.
According to an editorial in the Daily Times, Indian Foreign Minister S M Krishna, who is on a three-day visit to Pakistan, has spelled out quite eloquently that in case of any recurrence of
a Mumbai-like incident, ties between the two countries could deteriorate.
The editorial
stressed that now, obviously its Pakistan's turn to do more on this front, not only because it
matters for our relations with India and the region, but because the fire of terrorism is fast
engulfing Islamabad itself.
According to the paper, the sooner Pakistan renounces
supporting terrorists in the name of different strategies, the better it would be for the country
and its people.
The editorial pointed out that there remains a lingering trust deficit that does
not allow even relatively easier issues such as Sir Creek and Siachin to be resolved on a fast
track.
Similarly, blaming India of diverting Pakistan's waters does not absolve Pakistan of
its own mishandling of the situation, the editorial said,
According to it, Pakistan needs to
better argue its case and safeguard its interests in future.
