Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama has kickstarted a three-day teaching festival at the Tsuglagkhang temple here. The event coincided with the visit of Chinese Defence Minister General Liang Guanglie to India. Thousands of Buddhist followers from various countries joined Buddhist monks and local devotees to listen to the Dalai Lama. Speaking to mediapersons, a German Buddhist follower, Heinke, said it was her dream to attend a session presided by the Dalai Lama, and that it was heart warming to see the convergence of people from different parts of the world. “I want to say that for me, it is really impressive to see that so many people from different nations joined his (Dalai Lama) teachings in Dharamsala,” Heinke said. Earlier in the day, Chinese Defence Minister General Liang Guanglie met his Indian counterpart A.K. Antony in New Delhi . General Liang's visit follows a number of high intensity unilateral military exercises by the nuclear-armed neighbours in the border region in the past year.
