Police commissioner of Bangalore B.G. Jyothiprakash on Sunday has said that the

that extensive arrangements were in place for the festival and that 17,000 police
personnel would be deployed on the road. “Exhaustive arrangement has been made
in connection with the festival tomorrow. About 17,000 policemen including myself
will be on duty tomorrow. We have got three CRPF companies and three RAF companies
that will be assisting the local police. We have got 25 Karnataka State Reserve
Police (KSRP) platoons and 35 CRPF platoons. With this we have got 1,500 policemen
who are undergoing training and they have completed about 7-8 months of training.
They are also with us and about 100 home guards have already been deployed and
we are expecting another 100 home guards to come by evening today," Jyothiprakash
explined. He further said that influential leaders of different communities had
assured the police that no untoward incident would take place during Eid. "All
the leaders, especially elderly people have totally assured us and they have also
