Pak Hindus refusing to return after crossing into India | A group of 30 Pakistani Hindus who crossed into
India have clearly stated there that they have no intention of returning to Pakistan. The
Pakistani Hindus categorically stated that their lives were in danger in
Pakistan , and that they were forced to convert to Islam, reports The News. The
head of one family, Mukesh Kumar Ahuja, said Pakistani authorities had made them
sign documents claiming they would return to the country as soon as possible,
but his family would appeal to Indian authorities for political asylum. The head
of another family said abduction, killing and physical harassment of Hindus had
become a routine practice in Pakistan , and one of his family members had been
abducted for ransom of Rs.50 million. He said when the family failed to meet the
ransom demand the kidnapped member was killed. According to him, approximately
5,000 Hindu families in Pakistan were ready to migrate to India due to lack of
security. He said whenever they left their homes they were gripped by a perpetual
fear for their lives. He disclosed that 11 Hindu families, who crossed over into
Amritsar , had already set up camps and had requested India to grant them political
asylum.
