The Supreme Court of Pakistan has leveled contempt charges real estate tycoon Malik Riaz. Denying the court's decision, Riaz's counsel Dr. Basit said the charge against his client was "ambiguous", and maintained that the text of the charge did not contain any contemptuous words against the judiciary, reports The Express Tribune. The judicial bench said the court has all the relevant record that explains the contempt committed by Riaz. Riaz reportedly made payments to Pakistan chief justice's son Dr Arsalan Iftikhar, after the latter assured Riaz that he would settle the cases fought in his father's court in favour of Bahria Town . Also, a statement submitted in the Pakistan Supreme Court by Riaz stated that Rs.342,501,254 was spent on Arsalan's three foreign tours.
