Five time world champion M.C. Marykom scripted history here on Monday, winning her quarterfinal bout against Tunisian Maroua Rahela and qualifying for the Olympic semi finals in the Women’s Flyweight (51-kg) category. Marykom won the bout comprehensively 15-6, with scores of 2-1, 3-2, 6-1 and 4-2 giving ample account of her domination. The win ensured her a Bronze to the very least, making it India ’s best ever Olympics. India has already won three medals- one Silver and two Bronze- in the current edition of the Olympics. She will square up for semis clash on Wednesday.
